This is a very personal project where a mother-daughter duo team up to bring you the bad. It’s a podcast where I read my bad ’80s teen diaries to my daughter Lily. We describe it as part therapy, part entertainment where we travel back in time and delve into our shared family history. It’s a show for people who are curious about what’s changed and what’s stayed the same, as well as an excavation of a life and a close look at what makes and breaks a woman. I see it as an experiment in memory and about how we all build our own life stories. What we leave out even when writing to ourselves in our most private moments.
There’s seasonal crushes, wild throwbacks and a real dose of reality. We ask the question: is it possible to trace how a woman is shaped? Is there value in oversharing? What’s it like to go behind the identity of mother and reveal your teenage self to your child? What is real and what is curated? And what was wrong with ’80s hair? Not bad, good!
Find us on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Our fifth season is coming in 2026.
